The Fall 2017 Officer Training will inform Presidents & Treasurers about crucial Rutgers University policies and procedures. Officer training is MANDATORY for student organizations and will be available online via Sakai. The deadline to complete this training will be Wednesday, November 1st. Student Organizations that fail to complete will have their SABO accounts frozen. An email with more information will be emailed to officers in the coming weeks.

In order to become fully registered at Rutgers University, provisional student organizations MUST attend this training. All PRIMARY officers are required to attend, but other officers are welcome as well.

This year, The Department of Student Centers and Involvement will be hosting three Student Organization Information Fairs to accommodate busy schedules.

*PLEASE NOTE: All registered student organizations must send at least one executive board member to one fair.* You have 3 opportunities to visit the fair:

  1. Monday, September 18th from 7-9pm in the College Avenue Student Center
  2. Friday, September 29 from 2-4pm in the Busch Student Center
  3. Wednesday, October 4th from 6-8pm in the Livingston Student Center

You will be able to speak with representatives from the Rutgers University Student Assembly (RUSA), RUSA Allocations, the Student Activities Business Office (SABO), the Meetings and Events Office, Student Conduct and more to learn how your organization can have the most successful year and take advantage of everything Rutgers has to offer.

Interested in creating meaningful service experiences internationally, domestically, or right here in New Brunswick? This workshop is just for you! Engaging in community service can provide you with the opportunity to become a more active member of your community and will have a lasting, positive impact on society at large. However, you may have questions regarding the proper way to work with community partners or simply how to get started. If you have any questions or want helpful tips, please attend!

Is your student organization planning to make any trips or travel somewhere this semester? If so, we suggest you attend this workshop. The Department of Student Centers and Involvement will go over important policies and procedures you’ll need to know for your trip. During the workshop there will be discussion on emergency procedures, how to work with transportation companies (bus, car, etc..), and how to satisfy the Departments’ travel requirements.  We will be happy to answer any questions you have as well.

We will also be discussing event planning for your organization. You will be provided with information on how to construct an appropriate timeline to aid in the effectiveness of the execution of an event. The Department of Student Involvement will also discuss: delegation, contracting, ticket sales, security coverage, SABO process, advertising, prizes, charitable donations, and a few other topics. If you are looking to improve your event planning skills, this is the workshop for you!
